Tiger Woods continued his amazing run of form with a first-round nine-under-par 63 in the National Car Rental Golf Classic at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

The 24-year-old is chasing his 10th victory of the year, with the British Open, the US Open and the USPGA Championship already tucked away among his nine titles in 2000.

The world number one could hardly have made a better start, firing home four birdies in his first nine holes and another five immediately after the turn.

That gave him a share of the early lead alongside Steve Flesch, who recorded one more birdie than Woods but also bogeyed the par-three eighth. Mike Springer and Bill Glasson are tied for third place.
