Oisin McConville (Armagh): Scored 1-9 - After a performance in the first game that called in to question his big-day temperament, the Crossmaglen man came to make amends on Saturday. The pity for him now is that after his finest performance in Croke Park, it is the shot he had saved by Declan O'Keeffe that will live longest in the memory.

Mike Frank Russell (Kerry): Scored 2-3 - Tormented the McNulty brothers over the two days, but his goals on Saturday were a joy to behold, particularly the first. Put through gloriously by Maurice Fitzgerald, he still had much to do. The Laune Rangers player turned away from goal, then swivelled and shot under his marker and Benny Tierney low into the opposite corner.

Cora Staunton (Mayo): Scored 3-6 - Got off the mark fortunately when a 40-metre free dropped to the net in the first minute of Saturday's All-Ireland semi-final, but from there on it was vintage stuff. Her second goal came at the end of a powerful run, while she also managed to hit the post three times. Pat Holmes may be calling on her services soon.

Deirdre Hughes (Tipperary, right): Scored 2-2 - Like Staunton, she was fortunate with her first goal, a shot for a point that dropped to the Cork net. Her second, however, showed her prowess. Gathering a high ball (sent in by 14-year-old team-mate Claire Grogan) amidst a thicket of hurleys, Hughes turned and palmed to the net. Could have - possibly should have - scored more given her second-half wides. Still, a 2-2 tally and a second All-Ireland medal should keep her more than happy.
