Shelbourne 1 St Pats 1:SHELBOURNE SHOWED their mettle to dig out a point with 10 men in a rousing Dublin derby at Tolka Park.
Alan Mathews’ side had to play for almost half an hour a man down after Glenn Cronin saw a straight red card. St Patrick’s knocked the ball around much better, only to find themselves behind against the run of play on 22 minutes.
Brendan McGill’s volley hit the underside of the crossbar and the ball hit St Patrick’s keeper Brendan Clarke on the back and flew into the net.
St Patrick’s continued to pass it well with James Chambers and Christy Fagan carving Shelbourne open. Chris Forrester flicked on Ian Bermingham’s diagonal ball for the run of Fagan who toed it past Paul Skinner to equalise in the 43rd minute.
