HOSTS UCD twice came from behind at Belfield last night before succumbing to a late Tony Sheridan goal as Shelbourne booked their place in the final of the Leinster Senior Cup.

Shelbourne fielded a half-strength side with Des Baker leading the attack and it was the former Manchester United player who handed them the lead on nine minutes before Declan Fitzgerald brought UCD back on level terms to minutes before the interval.

Baker then restored the visitor's lead when he clinically punished a poor defensive clearance, but once again UCD displayed their resilience when Ciaran Kavanagh fired from the edge of the box.

Then, with nine minutes remaining, Sheridan broke the off-side trap and cleverly chipped Barry Ryan before slotting the ball into the empty net.
