If you're a regular visitor to Carlisle United's unofficial website you'll have read this story, so there's a fair chance you haven't.

For the uninitiated most Carlisle supporters would like owner Michael Knighton to take a running jump and relinquish his ownership of the club. Last week www.cufconline.org.uk told us of one such supporter, Dave Nicholson, who completed a 650-mile round trip from his Basingstoke home to sit outside Brunton Park in a deckchair while Carlisle were held to a goalless draw by Halifax inside.

"While the present management regime is still at Brunton Park, I refuse to attend home matches," he said. "I've supported the team for 51 years. I thought I'd make a stand and travel all that way but not go through the turnstile and just sit outside. I even took my own deckchair."

Word has it Carlisle manager Roddy Collins tried to persuade Nicholson to go in and watch the game. He sat firm, though, saying after that "by the sounds of things I didn't miss much". It's not, you'll agree, the same way we all go.
