DUNDEE UNITED - 1, CELTIC - 2 July 30th, 2000

Martin o'neill's first competitive game in charge at Celtic and an early indication of the Parkhead side's ability to grind out results. Henrik Larsson fired Celtic into a first-half lead only to see that cancelled out by David McCracken's leveller four minutes after the restart. But Chris Sutton had a debut to remember when he claimed the winner later in the game.

CELTIC - 6, RANGERS - 2 August 27th, 2000

Chris Sutton grabbed his first derby goal after just one minute to put Celtic in the driving seat before Stilian Petrov and Paul Lambert netted to put the home side three goals up within 12 minutes.

Claudio Reyna hauled Rangers back into the game after 41 minutes and a minute later Rod Wallace saw his goal disallowed for offside. Henrik Larsson extended Celtic's lead just after the break but Stephane Mahe was judged to have pulled down Wallace inside the box and Billy Dodds scored from the spot. Barry Ferguson, booked earlier in the game, was sent off 10 minutes from time for handling the ball and then throwing it away before Sutton sealed an astonishing win.

CELTIC - 6, HEARTS - 1 November 10th, 2000

Hearts faced a difficult time at Parkhead after losing manager Jim Jefferies to Bradford City. Captain Colin Cameron gave the Tynecastle side a shock lead after 13 minutes but that joy was short-lived. Henrik Larsson claimed a brace and Joos Valgaeren, Lubo Moravcik, Johan Mjallby and Stilian Petrov added their names to the score-sheet.

CELTICI - 6, ABERDEEN - 0 December 16th, 2000

Neil Lennon made his Parkhead debut against the Dons but that was overshadowed by Ramon Vega. The Swiss had joined from Tottenham Hotspur the previous day and made an immediate impact when he grabbed a memorable double. Not to be outdone, though, Henrik Larsson netted a hat-trick and young substitute Jamie Smith completed the rout with a late goal.

CELTIC - 6, KILMARNOCK - 0 January 2nd, 2001

This was the last game before the winter shutdown. Henrik Larsson and Chris Sutton showed just how dangerous they can be. The former Chelsea man found the back of the net twice but there was no stopping Larsson who fired home four times.

CELTIC - 1, RANGERS - 0 February 11th, 2001

Celtic had already dumped Rangers out of the League Cup earlier in the week and Alan Thompson ensured part two of the Old Firm double header would also be in the Parkhead side's favour. Rangers had seen Michael Mols and Claudio Reyna - along with Celtic's Lubo Moravcik - sent off in the previous game. Fernando Ricksen did not help ease Dick Advocaat's worries when he was shown the red card just before the break.
