Soccer Digest: For those who think there is too much soccer on television - you ain't seen nothing yet. From next season, every single match in the Champions League will be available live on British terrestrial or satellite digital television.

ITV and Sky have won the rights to screen the Champions League from 2003-06 in a deal worth a total of £240 million, it was announced last night, but the scope of the deal is astonishing.

Sky is to broadcast 14 Champions League matches live each week on their digital platform and ITV will show two on Tuesday evenings. There will also be highlights on ITV on Tuesdays and Sky on Wednesdays.

Controversial former England midfielder Dennis Wise yesterday signed a two-year deal with first division club Millwall, a week after the Football League upheld Leicester's decision to sack him for assaulting a teammate. "I'm delighted to be here and I'm looking forward to playing football again," the 35-year-old said.

Wise had his contract terminated by Leicester last month after an incident which left team-mate Calum Davidson with a fractured cheekbone during a pre-season tour of Finland.

Watford's players have been asked to take a 12 per cent pay cut or risk seeing the club fold.

Watford director Tim Shaw announced yesterday Watford could "cease to exist" unless they raise a total of £9.5 million within days to avoid slipping into administration.
