Sky get fans to pay out twice for Super 12 final

Sky Sports did no favours for rugby union enthusiasts last Saturday morning

Sky Sports did no favours for rugby union enthusiasts last Saturday morning. Having provided a welcome and comprehensive coverage of the Super 12, including live matches on a Saturday morning and a highlights package afterwards right up to the semi-finals, they advertised the fact that last weekend's Super 12 final between the ACT Brumbies (seen celebrating above) and the Natal Sharks could be seen live.

Not only was their official listing misleading but in order to see the match live, one had to have Sky Sports Extra, the channel on which the Super 12 final was shown. Not content with charging once for the privilege, Sky was asking rugby union supporters to pay twice (Sky Sports Extra).

On Sky Sports 2 they decided to show a live rugby league match from Australia. Now this column wonders which would be the more popular.
