The Clarins-sponsored Autumn Team finals of the ILGU Eastern District came to a conclusion at Lucan last week after the recent inclement weather played havoc with the original schedule.
Slade Valley captured the second-team title with a convincing 4-1 win over Headfort. Despite losing the top match where Pauline Walsh beat Gillian Harris, Slade had wins from Louise Harris, Jean Carroll, Jo Clarke and Noreen O'Grady. It took a tie hole to decide the third team trophy when Kilternan's Fionnualla Croskery Burke beat Nancy O'Connell of Hermitage.
The K Club won the fourth-team crown with a 4-1 win over Newlands while the fifth-team title between Balcarrick and Hazel Grove was decided on the second tie hole. With the match tied at 2-2, Patsy McGonagle won on the 20th against Phillipa Carr to give Balcarrick their first women's title.
