RACING: The quality might be at Ascot, but there is no shortage of quantity at home and Slaney Fox looks a bet to get tonight's 14 races off to a winning start.

The Jessica Harrington-trained mare goes in the first at Down Royal, and Slaney Fox will be glad she's here instead of at Limerick where she threw away a winning chance last time by falling.

The Harrington team could also take the maiden hurdle with Simply Da Best, who was fourth over hurdles at Punchestown and a good fifth to Royal Alphabet in a Fairyhouse bumper in April.

Jim Gorman's team are still in good form and Quick Date looks an each way shout in the 10 furlong handicap, while Unknown Venture looks best of the unexposed horses against Knock Abbey Castle in the maiden.

At Limerick, the 93 rated Kurbaan looks hard to get away from in the mile maiden, and should confirm his advantage over Prominent Feature from Leopardstown running.

Kurbaan's stable companion Coup De Chance goes in the claimer but has to concede 5lb to the Bellewstown winner Culcabock, who represents Joe Crowley.

Hymn Of Love has form on fast going and has been Stakes-placed on both her last two starts.

The balance of that may give the Weld filly an edge over Alexander Diamond and Mwaley, who won in Tralee in the fillies race.

Local trainer Michael Hourigan gives the double course winner Knockawad a start in the ladies Maiden and the nine-year-old should appreciate the better going.
