Sligo IT 1-11 UUJ 1-10: Sligo IT squeezed past Jordanstown in Belfast yesterday after a whirlwind start.

Three early points proved the catalyst for their impressive first-half display which saw them lead by 0-8 to 0-4 at the interval.

Tyrone's All-Ireland winning midfielder Seán Cavanagh helped inspire the UUJ recovery and the home side began to dominate in the second half.

Martin O'Rourke gave UUJ real hope when he scored a 43rd-minute goal to put the sides level .

Sligo's Johnny Davey then found the net to again give his side the upper hand, and they weathered a late UUJ rally which brought Kavanagh, Peter Rafferty and O'Rourke points.
