Cork City 0 Sligo Rovers 0:SLIGO ROVERS are in a strong position to qualify for Europe next season after securing a scrappy, scoreless draw at Turner's Cross last night.
A dull first half fizzled out with little in the way of activity - Gavin Peers came closest with a 30th-minute header which he looped over Mark McNulty's crossbar.
The second half was, if anything, worse, but for all that, it was still Sligo who had the better of it.
A few opportunities came their way, the best to Mauro Almeida who fluffed the best opportunity of the evening. Through on goal and only McNulty to beat, he shot straight at the goalkeeper to perfectly sum up the night.
