National League Premier Division/ Sligo Rovers 1 Bohemains 0: Sligo Rovers announced their return to the top-flight of the domestic league in perfect fashion with a victory over Bohemians at the Showgrounds on Saturday evening.

Chris Turner missed a great chance for Rovers to take the lead in the 35th minute - after a mix-up in the visitors' defence - with goalkeeper Steven O'Brien managing to punch the ball clear of danger.

However, it was simply a stay of execution, and the home side took the lead just before the break, with Australian midfielder Adam Hughes getting the final touch to a Keith Foy free-kick.

The Dublin side probably should have snatched a deserved share of the spoils in the final minutes of the game, but Stephen Ward's header was superbly saved by Sligo goalkeeper John O'Hara.
