League of Ireland/ Sligo Rovers 4 Cork City 1: Slick Sligo sent off-colour Cork City tumbling to an embarrassing 4-1 defeat in a pulsating Premier Division game at the Showgrounds on Saturday night.
"We started badly and didn't match Sligo's honest endeavour," said a disappointed Cork manager Damien Richardson. "A night like this can put doubts in one's mind but the important thing now is how the team reacts to it."
Matthew Judge put Sligo in front on 36 minutes when he raced through the Cork defence to fire past Michael Devine.
Man of the match Chris Turner doubled Sligo's advantage from the penalty spot a minute before half-time after Devine brought down the inrushing Fahrudin Kudozovic.
The game was put out of the visitors' reach a minute into the second half when Turner struck again and Judge curled home a fourth goal after 71 minutes.
Substitute Billy Woods scored a late consolation goal for Cork.
SLIGO ROVERS: Arcaba, Coleman, Peers, McKenzie, Turner, Hughes, Foy, Kudozovoc, Judge, Cretaro, Manson. Subs: O'Grady for Turner (70); McMorrow for Foy (77); O'Boyle for Judge (84).

• Ben Roberts is in line to make his Derry City debut against Shamrock Rovers this evening at the Brandywell where Pat Fenlon will be hoping the former Middlesbrough, Millwall and Brighton goalkeeper can help his men put their erratic early season form behind them.
Derry are without Gary Beckett, Barry Molloy and Kevin Deery due to injury. Rovers travel without injured duo Eric McGill or Tommy Barrett while Danny O'Connor is suspended. Ger Rowe and Derek Pender are also injury doubts.
