Two superbly taken goals papered over the cracks of a disappointing game at the Carlisle Grounds last night in a match soured by the late sending off of Sligo player/manager Nicky Reid.

A surprisingly disjointed Bray never seemed like building on their 6-0 drubbing of Waterford in their last home match and Sligo certainly deserved something from the match for their more cohesive second-half display.

The pity for Sligo was the last minute red card for Reid for a professional foul on Bray substitute Richie Parsons as he broke through on goal. For much of a fitful first-half both sides got forward well but lacked a cutting edge in front of goal. It took a superbly taken goal from Bray's Colm Tresson to bring the game finally to life four minutes before the break.

Sligo brought Marcus Hallows in for Sean Flannery at half-time and he made an immediate impact. Five minutes later Sligo were level when Steve Jones played Glen Shannon through and the 22-year-old held off the challenge of both Anthony McKeever and Tommy Gill to shoot low past Alan Kane for his fourth goal of the season.
