Enniscorthy Golf Club will undertake the second staging of the Enniscorthy Pro-Am on July 7th following the enormous success of last year's venture. Forty four teams will participate, one professional and three amateurs with each group sponsored.

The main sponsors of the tournament are the Riverside Park Hotel with a subsidiary role for J Donoghue Motors who have offered a BMW 316 for the competing professionals should they manage a hole in one at the par three, sixth.

Any amateur who manages to ace the 195 yard hole will win a set of Maxfli clubs valued at £200. The beautiful Wexford venue was originally a nine hole course until 1990 when the course was extended to 18 holes.

Connemara's Hughie O'Neill won last year's event with a 69 while club professional Martin Sludds navigated his team of club captain Neville Tector, President Paddy Doyle and lady captain Connie Doyle to victory in the team tournament.
