Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) president Pat Hickey seems to have put the brakes on the National Coaching and Training Centre (NCTC) through his solicitor Giles Kennedy.
The NCTC were about to throw Mr Hickey off their board before he publicly declared that they couldn't do it because he wasn't on the board. There now appears to be a dispute over whether Ireland's Mr Olympics is on the board or not. It's a bit like Cascarino saying he wasn't eligible for the Republic of Ireland when the FAI are saying that he was.
Still, Hickey is also preparing to smoke the pipe of peace this week in Government buildings with Minister for Sport Jim McDaid at a special meeting set up to try and prevent further cat fights spilling over into the public domain. Reconciliation breaking out here would be a giant step towards peace in our time in sports administration. But probably not half as interesting to watch.
