So easy for Waterford

NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION FOUR: Waterford 2-20 Kilkenny 0-3

NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION FOUR:Waterford 2-20 Kilkenny 0-3

WATERFORD easily saw off Kilkenny’s challenge to claim full points at Lemybrien yesterday.

When top scorer Brian Wall opened Waterford’s account with a first-minute goal the signs looked ominous for a disjointed Kilkenny outfit and the home side went on to lead 1-8 to 0-2 at half-time. Indeed Kilkenny’s opening score came from the boot of Waterford’s Eddie Rockett, whose attempted fly-kick clearance went over his own crossbar.

The second half was a completely one-sided affair, with Waterford kicking over points at will. Liam Ó Lionáin got their second goal in the 65th minute.
