Portsmouth have completed the signing of goalkeeper Dean Kiely. The 35-year-old former Republic of Ireland international joins from Charlton for an undisclosed fee after losing his regular place at the Valley for the first time since signing from Bury in 1999.

The relegation-threatened club have also revealed they are eyeing Celtic striker John Hartson as their next major transfer target, although the Welshman insisted yesterday he would be happy to spend the rest of his career at Parkhead, and the Scottish Premier League side insisted Hartson is not for sale.
Drug inquiry ruled out
Uefa announced yesterday they would not be investigating recent doping claims made against Marseille's 1993 European Cup winning side. European soccer's governing body had issued a statement saying they would look into the allegations made by former Marseille player Jean-Jacques Eydelie "despite the time elapsed since the match was played" -- but Uefa now believes such an investigation is not possible.
Chief executive Lars-Christer Olsson said that doping controls had taken place following the final, which Marseille won 1-0 against AC Milan, and all came back negative. "Having players saying they got an injection before the match doesn't, on its own, give much ground for an investigation," Olsson added.
