Mourinho said: "I think mentally he can forget Chelsea now for a couple of months and start to concentrate on England."

Diarra move unlikely

Alex Ferguson's hopes of attracting Lyon's £24 million-rated midfielder Mahamadou Diarra to Manchester United this summer appear doomed. Ferguson has been keeping tabs on the Mali international and recently watched the 24-year-old in Champions League action against AC Milan.

However, Diarra's agent Frederic Guerra yesterday insisted the player had expressed his determination to stay at Lyon for at least another year.

Cork wait on O'Callaghan

Cork City will give central midfielder George O'Callaghan a late fitness test ahead of this evening's rescheduled National League game against Sligo Rovers with Damien Richardson anxious that his side bounces back from Friday's disappointing 2-0 defeat at Richmond Park, reports Emmet Malone.

The City boss concedes that several of his players failed to perform in Inchicore and he is anxious the team restores a bit of momentum to their title defence with a win over last season's First Division champions.

John O'Flynn is again ruled out by a hamstring problem - Richardson is hoping the striker will be available again at the weekend - but Cillian Lordan and Denis Behan are reckoned to be fit enough to start.

For Sligo, Chris Turner returns from suspension leaving manager Sean Connor with a full squad.

In the night's other game, St Patrick's Athletic host Shamrock Rovers in the League Cup at Richmond Park.
