Sheffield United have called a press conference for today to unveil their new manager. Former Middlesbrough and West Brom boss Bryan Robson has been hotly tipped to take over at Bramall Lane, with Brian Kidd to be assistant manager.
McCarthy's job safe
Mick McCarthy will be given another chance to steer Wolves back to the Premiership after Steve Morgan, the man who has agreed to buy the club for £10, gave the former Republic of Ireland boss his full backing.
Morgan, a former Liverpool shareholder, has agreed to buy out current owner Jack Hayward for the symbolic fee in return for a promised £30 million investment in the club.
Mido close to exit
Mido's future at Tottenham looks increasingly uncertain after the Egypt striker admitted he was unsettled at White Hart Lane. He said: "I would be lying if I said that I am happy at Spurs. Any player who doesn't play will not feel happy."

Everton midfielder Lee Carsley has signed a new one-year contract at Goodison Park. The Republic of Ireland international's current deal was due to expire this summer.
