A short look at what is happening in the world of soccer.
Cudicini is not moving
Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has reaffirmed his determination to stay at the club despite the prospect of playing second fiddle to Petr Cech for another season. The 32-year-old has played just once so far this season, in the 4-0 win over West Brom at Stamford Bridge, and while he is resigned to waiting in the wings for another chance to shine the Italian goalkeeper insists he has no plans to move on.
Cudicini said: "First of all I have a contract here until 2008. Second of all, I think Chelsea has done a lot for me. The club made it clear they didn't want to sell me and nor did I ask the club to go somewhere else, so I was always happy to stay. I am part of this club and I like that."
Meanwhile, German side Schalke have renewed their interest in Chelsea centre-half Robert Huth.
Solskjaer sets target
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has set himself the target of being back in training by the beginning of November. The Manchester United striker has spent almost all of the last two seasons on the sidelines trying to combat a serious knee injury and reports coming out of Norway recently suggested Solskjaer had suffered another, potentially career-threatening, setback.
However, while Solskjaer has admitted he has been forced to ease off his recovery programme because of a minor niggle, he insisted the new injury was only loosely connected to the old one and he intends to resume training in six weeks' time.
Fowler injury back
Robbie Fowler's return from a back injury has stalled. The former England striker has failed to make an appearance for Manchester City this season after being struck down by a back complaint which City officials felt an injection would solve. Although the 30-year-old did recover sufficiently to play twice for City's reserve side earlier this month, he only succeeded in aggravating the problem and he is now booked in for a further specialist's appointment in an effort to find a solution.
10,000 reasons to win
A German brewery will give away 10,000 litres of beer to fans of the first team to beat Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this season. Bayern have won 15 league games in a row - six out of six this season, plus their final nine on the run-in to the title last term - and are already four points clear at the top. The beer could be claimed tomorrow when second-placed Hamburg SV host Bayern. Bitburger will raise the offer by 1,000 litres each match until the prize has been won.
In brief . .
Irish under-21 international Willo Flood will spend a second month at Coventry City after Manchester City agreed to extend his loan period. The Dubliner has done well since arriving from Eastlands, starting five games and turning in a series of of impressive performances. Southampton boss Harry Redknapp will ask for a personal hearing after being hit with a Football Association charge following his dismissal from the dug-out at Derby last weekend. Redknapp has been charged with using abusive and/or insulting words towards an official after he protested against referee Nigel Miller's decision to allow Derby's Inigo Idiakez to retake a penalty.
