Hicks owns up
Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has revealed he held talks with Dubai International Capital (DIC) but only about the company becoming a "minor investor" in the club.
DIC rejected the opportunity and Hicks insists that is the end of the matter.
While Hicks said that there was never any intention to sell the club to DIC, he said: "I did talk to them about a 10-15 per cent participation but that was months ago. We gave them a valuation as a minority investor but they thought the price was too high. We have had no conversations since then."
Baros moves
Portsmouth have completed the signing of former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Milan Baros on loan until the end of the season.
Baros (26) joins from French side Lyon and Portsmouth have also secured an option to buy the Czech Republic forward if the move is a success.
Meanwhile, Villa may beat off Celtic for the signature of the United States goalkeeper Brad Guzan (23), who spent last week training with the Scottish champions.
