Irish forward Katie McCabe has agreed a deal to join Arsenal Ladies from Shelbourne.

The promising 20-year-old already has six senior caps for the Republic of Ireland, having made her debut against Hungary in March this year. She was a key member of the Ireland’s Under-19s that reached the semi-finals of the European under-19 Championship in 2014.

McCabe will become the latest in a long line of talented players from Ireland to play for Arsenal Ladies, following in the footsteps of Emma Byrne, Ciara Grant and Yvonne Tracy.

Arsenal manager Pedro Martinez Losa said: “We are delighted to welcome Katie to the club. She is a fantastic young talent, who is full of potential, and I look forward to her continued progress with us in the season ahead.”
