Soccer:Atletico Madrid chief Miguel Angel Gil has rejected a combined offer of €60 million from Chelsea for striker Sergio Aguero and defender Diego Godin.
Argentina international Aguero (22) has been a prolific goalscorer for the Spanish side since joining them in 2006, while centre-back Godin, (24) has won 43 caps for Uruguay.
"In the last week we have received two offers," said Gil. "One from Real Madrid for Aguero for €45 million and the other from Chelsea for Aguero and Diego Godin for €60 million.
"Atletico have said no to the two offers because they believe in these two players."
After selling Simao Sabrosa and buying in Elias and Juanfran, Gil, who has also backed Atletico coach Quique Sanchez Flores, said there would be no more activity in the January transfer window.
