Soccer: Gareth Bale is unlikely to start tomorrow's Champions League clash with AC Milan after he felt some stiffness in his legs during training this morning. The Welshman made his return from six weeks out with a back injury on Sunday but is not fit enough to start tomorrow's last-16 clash.
Rafael van der Vaart missed missed the 3-3 draw with Wolves at Molineux and has not played since Spurs’ 1-0 win at the San Siro three weeks ago, but looked sprightly during an open session at the club’s training ground.
Younes Kaboul, who has been out since December with a knee injury, also trained this morning and could be fit for a shock return against the Rossoneri. Ledley King also took part but Jonathan Woodgate, who made his comeback from a long-term groin injury in the San Siro, did not train and looks to be out of tomorrow’s showdown at White Hart Lane.
Peter Crouch's well-taken goal after a lightning break by Aaron Lennon capped a terrific performance three weeks ago which put the Londoners, making their Champions League debut this season, in the driving seat.
"We all want to continue in the competition, it's a fantastic competition and once you've played in it you want more," Redknapp said today. "It's wide open to win this year and we're still in it but we still have to beat Milan. They are a strong team but my message to the players will be, 'let's get after them and try to score again'.
"We're not going to change our style of play, try to sit back and defend that away goal, that wouldn't be right for us," added Redknapp. "We do score goals and sometimes have difficulty stopping them but we pick an open team and we'll have a go tomorrow.
"They are coming here to win, they have to, and we're taking the same approach, so it's set up to be a fantastic game."
