Barcelona will not sell Ronaldinho to Chelsea despite newspaper reports linking the Brazilian with a move to the Premier League.

Reports in England suggest Roman Abramovich has held two meetings with Ronaldinho's brother and adviser in the hope of bringing the Barcelona superstar to London.

It is claimed Abramovich is prepared to make Ronaldinho the highest-paid player in football and smash the world's transfer record.

Ronaldinho has an £85 million buy-out clause in his Barcelona contract.

But Barcelona sport director Txiki Berguiristain has dismissed the reports.  "We do not want to sell him," he told Catalunya Radio.

"Ronaldinho is our player and I am totally convinced that he will remain at the club.  In this aspect the decision of Barcelona is clear."

Berguiristain is not surprised that the Brazilian international is being chased by other clubs, but is adamant that the player is going nowhere as he still has three years to run on his current contract.

"It is normal that any of the big clubs in the world desires Ronaldinho, but he has signed a deal with us," he added.
