Soccer:Karim Benzema's agent has confirmed Manchester United are keen to sign the Lyon striker this summer.

The France international has been strongly linked with a move to both the Red Devils and Real Madrid, though Lyon are keen to retain his services.

The Ligue 1 side admitted that Real had made an enquiry, while United have remained silent on their transfer targets as they look to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo's departure for the Bernabeu.

But agent Karim Djaziri has now admitted Alex Ferguson has earmarked his client for a move to the Premier League - and believes it is inevitable that Benzema will leave Lyon at some point in the future.

Djaziri told Europe1: "Ferguson wants Karim this summer, however his transfer fee will not be over €40million.

"He is only 21, the only time a transfer of a 21-year-old went so high it was the Robinho transfer to Real Madrid.

"Karim can't be more valued than David Villa, who will cost more than €40million.

"The question is not if he will sign for one of the big clubs, but when."

Djaziri's comments come just three days after he insisted Benzema would not be leaving Stade Gerland for at least another year.
