Slaven Bilic has insisted Tottenham's Croatian contingent are fully behind coach Juande Ramos and insists he has no interest in succeeding the Spaniard, while Arsenal manager claims Spurs director of football Damine Comolli is being made a 'scapegoat' for the club's poor form.

Bilic, who manages Spurs duo Luka Modric and Vedran Corluka at international level, would be one of the names in the frame should Ramos pay the price for leading the north London club to their worst ever league start.

But he told BBC Radio Five Live: "I've been linked with many clubs in England and all I can say is that it is flattering.

"But I have my job with Croatia and that's all I'm concentrating on."

Both Modric and Corluka were taken to White Hart Lane by Ramos this summer, and Bilic added: "The Tottenham crisis has affected them but they are behind the manager and I can't see a problem with them on the pitch."

Bilic, the former West Ham and Everton defender, is confident Spurs' predicament will only prove to be a temporary blip.

"It's hard to believe but a lot of good teams have been in the same position,"

"When something goes wrong, and then you get injures, red cards and bad luck, it's frustrating.

"I know the situation they are but I'm sure it is going to get better. It's a massive club and they are going to come back."

Reports have suggested that Comolli is facing the axe from his role at Spurs but Wenger has backed his fellow Frenchman, who worked for Arsenal as a European scout before taking up a post with their North London rivals.

"I brought him here [to Arsenal] because I thought he was good," Wenger told a press conference. "I believe we are in a game where every public job is open to people looking for scapegoats. That's why I say always in our job we have to accept we are always responsible, always guilty, even if not always responsible.

"In general you can only fight against that situation when you are united and I believe Damien is quality."

Wenger is also confident that the system of a head coach working alongside a director of football can be a success in England, if people are aware of their responsibilities.
