Birmingham City have agreed a fee with Galway United captain Jay O’Shea. The 20-year-old Dubliner is set to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with Alex McLeish’s side.

O’Shea, capped three times for the Republic of Ireland under-21s, has scored four goals in 19 appearances this season, playing mainly on the right side of midfield.

He scored seven in 29 last season.

If he agrees terms O’Shea will link up with four other Irishmen in the shape of former St Patrick’s Athletic midfielder Keith Fahey, former internationals Lee Carsley and Stephen Carr and goalkeeper Colin Doyle.
