Steve Bruce will remain as Birmingham manager despite the club's relegation from the Premiership. Bruce will get the opportunity to get Birmingham promoted from the Coca-Cola Championship, despite being linked with leaving St Andrews.

A statement on Birmingham's website, www.bcfc.com: "Following further discussions between the Birmingham City board and manager Steve Bruce, the club is able to confirm that Steve is to remain as team manager.

"The board is determined to see the club back in the Premiership at the earliest opportunity and believes that Steve is the right man to achieve this ambition for a second time.

"The board and the manager will now continue to work relentlessly to bring in the right players to build the strongest squad possible to give Birmingham City the best chance of promotion next season."
