Nottingham Forest striker Junior Agogo scored the only goal in the victory against Namibia which put Ghana on the verge of qualifying for the knockout stages of the African Nations Cup.
Agogo bundled home from close range in the 41st minute but the hosts struggled to impose themselves on their Group A opponents — who are knocked out as a result of the defeat — and could easily have conceded in the second half.
It was a second successive win at the tournament for the Black Stars but they disappointed a 45,000-strong crowd, who had expected an avalanche of goals after Namibia conceded five in their opener against Morocco on Monday.
Ghana need only draw their last match against Morocco to ensure top place in the group.
