Eircom League review:With Shamrock Rovers not in action until tomorrow evening, Bohemians took the opportunity to apply every ounce of pressure with a convincing win at Turner's Cross.

A Ken Oman header and a Kevin Long own goal saw the points head north to the capital as troubled Cork City were beaten 2-0 and, in truth, the visitors were more comfortable than the scoreline suggested.

The result takes Bohemians back to the top of the Premier Division table by a single point, although Rovers host Drogheda United on Saturday.

Bohemians already had two decent penalty claims waved away before Oman met a Killian Brennan cross ahead of Cork goalkeeper Mark McNulty seven minutes before the interval.

The Gypsies had to wait until the hour mark to seal the win, Brennan again the provider as his driven cross was turned into the Cork net by a despairing Long.

Elsewhere, Dundalk had three players sent off amid chaotic scenes at Oriel Park but salvaged a point with a 2-2 draw against Sligo Rovers.

Kevin McKinley, Chris Turner and Thomas Heary were given their marching orders sent to the line in the second half but despite constant Sligo pressure the Lilywhites held firm.

Galway United kept their relegation worries at bay with a 3-1 win over Derry City. Gareth McGlynn put the Candystripes in front on 26 minutes but Cian McBrien, Aaron Greene and Jason Molloy hit back for the home side.
