Premier Division Round-up:Premier Division leaders Bohemians were the victors in what turned out to be something of a late show as they scored two goals in the last 20 minutes to win 2-0 against Galway United at Dalymount Park tonight.

Goals from Ken Oman and the in-form Jason Byrne moved them four clear at the top after Cork City lost away to Drogheda United, while Derry City moved up to second with their win over St Patrick’s Athletic.

Bohemians opening goal was hardly a thing of beauty as Paul Keegan fired over a corner and Oman got the slimmest of touches to send the ball bouncing through defenders and beyond the stranded Galway goalkeeper.

Pat Fenlon’s men added a second when Galway were caught on the break and eventually found Graham Carey, who picked out Keegan perfectly but he was brought to the ground before getting his shot away.

Byrne stepped up to slot home his 13th league goal of the season from the spot.

There was even better news as Drogheda defeated Cork 2-1 at United Park. Derry climbed above Cork and into second with their 1-0 win over St Patrick’s Athletic at the Brandywell, but the Candystripes are still four behind the leaders’ tally of 35 points,

Gareth McGlynn was the hero for Derry as he scored the winner in the 75th minute to ensure a result the home side deserved on the overall reflection of play.

Bray recorded their first win in five games with a 5-1 win over Sligo Rovers at the Carlisle Grounds.

Rovers traveled with a depleted squad but came with purpose and they broke the deadlock.

Conor O'Grady’s cross from the right was miscued by Rafael Cretaro but the Tubbercurry man made no mistake with his second effort against a hesitant home defence from close range.

However, Bray levelled two minutes later when Daire Doyle’s effort from 35 yards deflected off Sligo defender Danny Ventre giving goalkeeper Richard Brush no chance.

Gareth Coughlan finally made his chances count on 55 minutes when he shot past Brush to put Bray ahead. The home side’s third came in the second minute of added time when Gary McCabe fired home a penalty after the same player had been taken down in the box.
