Soccer - League of Ireland:Bohemians returned to the top of the Premier Division with a hard fought 1-0 win over Derry City at the Brandywell this evening, while Cork City and Sligo Rovers played out a scoreless draw at Turner's Cross.

It was a highly entertaining game as both sides created chances with Bohemians’ Killian Brennan and Derry’s Mark Farren both going close in the early stages.

The visitors then struck after 17 minutes when Farren’s stray pass, following a throw-in on the right, was intercepted by Brennan and his lightning break, from well inside his own half, caught the home defence out.

With Paddy Madden keeping pace with the left winger, Brennan intelligently played the striker in and he netted with aplomb, giving the Derry keeper no chance.
