Eircom League Round-Up: Bohemians extended their lead at the top of the Eircom Premier League with a 3-0 win over Sligo Rovers on a night when their nearest challengers St Patrick's Athletic were held to a 2-2 draw by bottom of the table Galway United.
Neale Fenn put Pat Fenlon's men ahead in the 15th minute. However the home side didn't have it all their own way, and it wasn't until the a late goal from Killian Brennan and an own goal from Gavan Peers that the game was out of Sligo's reach.
St Pat's lost the top spot on Tuesday night when they lost 1-0 at home to Bohs and tonight they were looking to bounce back at Terryland Park. However, Galway had other ideas.
Derek O'Brien put the home side ahead in the 24th minute but two minutes later Mark Quigley equalised for Pat's. Quigley wasn't long getting his eye on goal for he added a second just after the half hour mark when he latched onto a Ryan Guy cross.
Galway levelled in the 58th minute through Vinny Faherty's toe-poke to ensure the points were shared.
UCD ran out 1-0 winners when Ronan Finn recorded his first goal of the season and the student's first win in 12 games. The win lifts them above Finn Harps and out of the relegation zone.
Elsewhere Bray Wanderers defeated Shamrock Rovers 1-0 at the Carlisle Grounds. The home side took advantage of an injury depleted Rovers side when Mark Duggan scored the only goal of the game.
The result means Pat Scully's men have now failed to win any of their last 11 games.
Bohemians are now three points clear at top with 33 points after 14 games.
