Soccer:Brian Shelley and Steven Gray, the Bohemians players at the centre of a dispute over the non-payment of wages which could see the club forced out of business, have claimed they have the full support of their teammates.
The players are seeking to have the club ‘wound-up’ because of the dispute and instructed their lawyer, Stuart Gilhooly, to lodge a petition with the High Court last Friday.
Bohemians have not paid either player, and eight other teammates, any wages for over seven weeks. While their teammates were reluctant to go down the legal route, they are said to support Shelley and Gray in their actions.
Shelley and Gray will hold a press conference on Friday to “explain the reasoning behind their action and to give their team-mates an opportunity to demonstrate their support”.
