West Brom 1-1 Middlesbrough; Boro win 5-4 on pens :Middlesbrough were forced to do it the hard way but they eventually beat West Brom in their FA Cup fifth round replay at The Hawthorns after coming from a goal down to win on penalties.

Darren Carter gave the hosts a 26th-minute lead but Mark Viduka's 63rd-minute goal took the tie to extra-time.

West Brom were reduced to 10 men in extra-time when striker Nathan Ellington was dismissed for a lunge but the homesside held on only to be beaten 5-4 on penalties. Boro will play Manchester United at home in the quarter-finals on March 11th.

Blackburn Rovers host Arsenal in Wednesday's replay.
