Bohemians continued their fantastic away run in Drogheda tonight with a dramatic 2-1 win over the defending eircom League champions.
Killian Brennan capped a man-of-the-match performance with an injury time penalty to secure all three points and keep Bohemians hot on the heels of early pacesetters St Patrick's Athletic.
An exquisite Brennan free-kick on the stroke of half-time was no more than Pat Fenlon's side deserved at the interval, the former Derry City midfielder picking his spot with precision from the placed ball.
Yet despite going on to dominate after the break, the visitors were unable to double their advantage and paid the price with 17 minutes remaining. A hopeful punt into the Bohs' penalty area found its way to Ollie Cahill, who's first-time shot looped up off defender Owen Heary and over the stranded Brian Murphy.
With time ticking away, and Bohs pushing for a winner, Stuart Byrne collected a second yellow card to reduce Paul Doolin's side to 10 men.
And the Bohemians pressure finally told almost five minutes into injury-time when Glen Crowe was up-ended by Jamie Ewing in the Drogheda box, Brennan's cheeky effort from the spot rubbing salt into the wound.
