Sol Campbell is set to return for Arsenal in time for their Champions League clash with Juventus next week.
The England international has not played since February 1 after suffering an ankle problem following an extended leave of absence in the wake of his poor performance during the first half of the 3-2 defeat to West Ham at Highbury.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is now hoping Campbell comes through a reserve match against Charlton at Barnet on Monday night.
Should all go well , the 31-year-old centre-half could be back in the Arsenal squad for Saturday's trip to Portsmouth and then the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Juventus on March 28th.
His fellow England defender Ashley Cole looks like he needs around another 10 days rehabilitation before he is ready for start full training again following an ankle injury.
Wenger also has concerns over striker Robin van Persie, who is yet to fully recover from a broken toe, and Jose Antonio Reyes who is struggling with a hamstring problem.
