Champions League review:Celtic have yet to record an away victory in the Champions League after another night of frustration resulted in a 2-1 defeat to Aalborg and ended their campaign for yet another year. Manchester United and Arsenal both qualified after the defending champions drew 0-0 at Villareal and the Gunners scraped past Dynamo Kiev 1-0.

Celtic took the lead against through Barry Robson after 53 minutes but Caca struck back 20 minutes later, before Gary Caldwell, who was retained in midfield by manager Gordon Strachan, scored an own goal three minutes from time.

It was a particularly costly contribution that also ended Celtic's hopes of a Uefa Cup run at the expense of their hosts.

"Having got in a position to win the game and throw it away like that, (it was) very disappointing," Caldwell told STV after the game. "I think we did enough to win the game but football's not like that. You've got to score goals, you've got to do more than that.
