Chelsea coach Avram Grant is set to rest England stars Frank Lampard and John Terry for tonight's Champions League clash against Olympiacos in Athens.
It is understood captain Terry and midfielder Lampard will be on the bench for the first leg of the last-16 tie and new £15 million signing Nicolas Anelka is likely to be alongside them.
Grant will prefer Didier Drogba in attack to the former Bolton striker.
Grant has used a rotational policy since taking charge in September and tonight's selection suggests Sunday's Carling Cup final against Tottenham at Wembley is in mind.
Alex and Ricardo Carvalho will be asked to tackle the Greek attack while Claude Makelele will sit in front of the back four, allowing Michael Ballack and Michael Essien to boss the midfield.
Grant said: "I know who will play, how we will play, and who will be on the bench.
"I take all the decisions based on what is the best for the team. Always in Chelsea there will be big players on the bench or not playing. This is life of a manager and of the players. I think it is good for them."
Terry has played just one game since breaking his foot in three places against Arsenal in December.
Lampard returned against Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League 10 days ago and scored twice in the 3-1 FA Cup win over Huddersfield on Saturday.
The England midfielder had been out of action with a thigh injury since their 4-4 draw with Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Both players will start against Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday.
