Bohemians 0 Cork City 1:Davin O'Neill's first goal for Cork City was enough to see off Bohemians at Dalymount Park tonight where the league champions were handed a reality check as they strive to retain their title.
O'Neill found the net on 52 minutes after Denis Behan set the ex-Cobh Rambler up from the right flank.
Although the home side enjoyed plenty of the possession they couldn't make the advantage count. Glen Crowe found the City net on the half hour mark but the shot was ruled out because Anto Murphy's cross swung over the byline.
It was Cork’s second consecutive win and Paul Doolin’s side must believe they can contend for honours based on this performance.
Bohemians' defeat means they relinquished the lead at the top of the table to Derry City, who drew 1-1 with Galway City at the Brandywell.
Elsewhere Drogheda United and Shamrock Rovers played out a 2-2 draw at United Park, while Bray Wanderers and St Patrick’s Athletic were scoreless at the Carlisle Grounds.
