The winding-up order hanging over Cork City has been formally struck out by the High Court this morning, after the club paid the outstanding debts owed to the Revenue Commissioners yesterday.
Counsel for the Revenue confirmed a sum of around €219,000, half the original debt, was received yesterday afternoon.
Cork paid the other half last week on the understanding the remainder would be settled by 4.30pm yesterday.
Club owner Tom Coughlan must now set about paying the players, whose wages for the last five weeks or so were deferred.
Talks were scheduled to take place today, with Coughlan pledging to pay some of the money by the close of business.
