Peter Crouch scored his 11th goal in his last 10 appearances to give England a 1-0 win over Macedonia in their Euro 2008 Group E qualifier.

Crouch, who scored twice in England's 5-0 win over Andorra in their opening qualifying match at Old Trafford on Saturday, struck in the first minute of the second half with an overhead kick that hit the bar and bounced down just over the goal-line.

England dominated for long periods, but were never allowed to relax as the home side counter-attacked with some quick raids and came close to an equaliser in the 85th minute when Ashley Cole needed two attempts to clear off the goal-line.

England top the group with six points from their opening two games while Macedonia have three points from their first two matches following their 1-0 win in Estonia last month.
