Charlton boss Alan Curbishley has again called for a decision on the next England manager to be made soon.

Curbishley is in the frame to succeed Sven-Goran Eriksson when the Swede steps down after the summer's World Cup but he admits he is not happy with the continuing speculation.

Middlesbrough's Steve McClaren, Bolton boss Sam Allardyce and former Celtic manager Martin O'Neill are also believed to be in the running.

Curbishley told Sky Sports News: "They need to so something probably the sooner the better. There is a lot of uncertainty and that is not right. The so-called people in the frame have all got jobs to do."

McClaren, who is currently one of Eriksson's assistants, is trying to keep his focus on his work at Middlesbrough having taken the club to the semi-finals of the FA and UEFA Cup.

Boro overcame Curbishley's Charlton 4-2 in their FA Cup quarter-final replay last night.

McClaren said: "I've coped with it (speculation) game after game but I can't think about anything else (but Middlesbrough). I let everyone else do the speculating. The players are really focused and I'm here to do a job for
Middlesbrough."
