West Ham 1-0 Man United:Alan Curbishley's career as West Ham manager got off to a perfect start as Nigel Reo-Coker gave the London side a 1-0 victory over Manchester United, who saw their lead at the top cut to two points.

The Hammers' skipper, who has suffered a slump in form this season and has been linked with a move from the club, crashed in the only goal at Upton Park against Premiership leaders United.

United's lead at the summit was cut to two points following Chelsea's win earlier in the day, and they were denied by a polished performance from goalkeeper Robert Green.

Yossi Benayoun was brought on for the final 20 minutes, replacing Hayden Mullins. Skipper Reo-Coker was booked for a foul on Ronaldo, and Sheringham also picked up a card.
