Team news: Kevin Doyle's lack of match fitness appears to have has cost him a place in the starting line-up for the Republic of Ireland's win or bust Euro 2008 qualifier against Wales this afternoon.
Ireland manager Steve Staunton has opted instead to use Damien Duff up front alongside captain Robbie Keane while Jonathan Douglas, who will make just his second start for his country, has surprisingly been drafted into the side to play on the right.
Doyle, who has missed most of the year with a hamstring injury, had hoped to start having played a full 90 minutes for Reading last weekend but instead has to settle for a place on the bench.
In defence, Paul McShane's presence has been preferred to Ian Harte. Steve Finnan will occupy Harte's right full-back berth with John O'Shea starting at left back.
Wales boss Toshack produced a surprise in his selection, naming 20 year-old Joe Ledley in midfield for his 10th cap instead of the more experienced Carl Fletcher.
He also opted for three central defenders, with Wrexham's Steve Evans - currently still suspended at club level - included. Burnley's Danny Coyne won the vote in goal ahead of Darren Ward.
