SOCCER:Drogheda United will have to wait until next Thursday to learn the outcome in their bid to emerge from examinership after judgement was reserved in the High Court today.
The scheme of arrangement prepared by the recently appointed examiner to the club, Kieran McCarthy, was put before Justice Ms Mary Finlay Geoghegan who will determine next Thursday whether to approve it.
Judge Finlay Geoghegan is seeking clarification of the status of monies raised by Drogheda United supporters in a bid to rescue the club, which the court were told today are €732,000 in deficit.
The supporters raised €250,000 after an appeal from Drogheda United, which makes up most of the €300,000 the club has risen in their bid to fight examinership.
The club held a meeting with its unsecured creditors yesterday morning in which four of the five categories agreed to a proposed settlement.
The Revenue Commissioners, who are owed who €535,506 for PAYE and PRSI, have reserved judgement on their decision.
