Newcastle winger Damien Duff has aimed a swipe at former boss Sam Allardyce, saying he is enjoying things more under Kevin Keegan.

Keegan replaced Allardyce at St James' Park in January and Duff is relishing playing under the former England chief.

Republic of Ireland international Duff believes training is better under Keegan and he ridiculed Allardyce's claim that Newcastle were one of the fittest squads in the league.

"I know Big Sam used to say that we were the fittest around but I think we were far from it," Duff told the Guardian.

"I don't think we were the fittest when the new gaffer came in. As a group, I think we could have been fitter.

"Training has been getting better every week. However, it's going to take a while for the gaffer to put his stamp on things.

"We haven't won under Kevin, but there's definitely a buzz around because he's such a legend here.
He's a great motivator and is always positive, even after we'd just lost to Manchester United.

"I've enjoyed every minute working with him and now it's all about taking that out on the pitch where it matters most."
